Surge in Carbon Levels Raises Fears of Runaway Warming

David Adam, the Guardian

UNITED KINGDOM, Jan. 19/07 - Carbon dioxide is accumulating in the atmosphere much faster than scientists expected, raising fears that humankind may have less time to tackle climate change than previously thought. Read Article...

New Standards Will Make Gas Mileage Stickers More Realistic

Aaron Glantz, OneWorld US

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 16/06 - Your car's gas mileage is probably worse than you thought it was.

But the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reacting to petitions from environmental groups and the public, has developed new mileage tests that more accurately reflect today's driving habits, which will be implemented for the 2008 crop of vehicles and beyond. Read article...

Carbon Emissions Show Sharp Rise

Nov. 28/ 06 - The rise in humanity's emissions of carbon dioxide has accelerated sharply, according to a new analysis.

The Global Carbon Project says that emissions were rising by less than 1% annually up to the year 2000, but are now rising at 2.5% per year.

It says the acceleration comes mainly from a rise in charcoal consumption and a lack of new energy efficiency gains.

The global research network released its latest analysis at a scientific meeting in Australia. Read article...

Greater Vancouver Diesel Emission Reduction Program

Emission inventories of the Lower Fraser Valley continue to indicate that emissions from motor vehicles are the largest single source of air contaminants. As a result, several programs have targeted vehicle emissions as an important area for emission reductions.

In co-operation with other local, provincial and federal agencies, the GVRD has become a Canadian leader in introducing programs to reduce emissions. Read article...

North America's Busiest Highway

According to Wikipedia, the 401 is widely considered to be North America's busiest highway, with an estimated Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) of over 425,000 in 2004. Read article...

The province of Ontario, Canada, especially the Greater Toronto Region, is home to North America’s busiest highway. On many days this up-to-16-lane super highway has carried over 500,000 cars.

Inventor Dwayne Leslie traveled this highway almost every day. He was witness to the incredible tailpipe emissions generated in this corridor on a daily basis. Quite an incentive for a creative person to actually do something about what he realized was a massive problem. In time this Canadian inventor formulated and manufactured a totally Canadian product (a simple fuel additive) that was 100% vegetable based, 100% organic, 100% biodegradable and 100% safe that would help reduce tailpipe emissions by up to 85% depending on the condition of each individual vehicle. This additive or fuel detergent has a very unique feature: it actually works!

Carbon Emission Cuts Needed "Within Decade"

NOV. 8/06 - Governments around the world must take steps within the next ten years to dramatically reduce global CO2 emissions if they are to avoid a potentially devastating 2°C rise in average temperatures, according to the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR). Read full story here...

How the New Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel Can Affect Your Cost of Doing Business

Recently, across the United States and Canada a new Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel has been introduced. Unfortunately, this new fuel does not come without problems. This new low sulfur diesel will impact dramatically upon transportation companies and private operators across our continent. This new low sulfur diesel will add even more strain to a transportation industry already facing great difficulties. Here are some problems we are already facing...and a solution.

Problem #1

Lubricity (Lubrication)

We do not often think of fuel and lubrication at the same time, yet we should because fuel also needs to lubricate engine internals. A fuel's ability to lubricate is also referred to as lubricity. Lubricity can be defined as "a measure of a fuel's ability to lubricate and protect the various parts of the engine's fuel injection system from wear." Unfortunately, the advanced processing required to reduce the sulfur content of diesel fuel to the required 15 ppm (parts per million) also removes the naturally-occurring lubricity agents in diesel fuel.

Loss of Lubricity Can Lead to Component Wear and Failure

With the greatly reduced lubrication properties of the new diesel fuel, certain engine components are at greater risk. The loss of lubricity can result in high rates of fuel injection component wear and potential premature failure. This is especially true with the "Rotary Distributor Injection Pump." The rotary distributor injection pump is totally depended on the lubricity of the diesel fuel because the diesel fuel provides 100% of the lubrication to the internal parts of the injection pump.

Problem #2

Gums and Sludges

During the refining process, which requires the introduction of hydrogen to remove sulfur and reduce aromatic hydrocarbons, there is a significant loss of natural antioxidants that help prevent the fuel from forming gums and sludges.

Problem #3

Higher Fuel Consumption

Another important issue, that is a result of the hydrotreating process, is the reduction in the fuel density. This fuel density reduction can translate into a slight lowering of the energy content of the diesel fuel and thus result in a subsequent increase in fuel consumption.

A Solution!

Fuel Busters Diesel Fuel Conditioner

We can clearly see that the introduction of the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel will not be without additional problems to the trucking industry. There has been a call from Equipment Manufacturers for an additive that would answer the problem of lubrication in the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, either at the fuel terminal or as an after market product.

The Petroleum Industry, following government mandates, is adding an additive at each terminal location. This additive is reported not to homogenize in the mixture adequately and is left layered in solution. This means the closer you are to the terminal the less likely your fuel has been fully mixed due to less agitation and more layering.

Also, these additives are not mandated to have any effect on the other problems, such as the loss of the antioxidants which cause build up of gums and sludges on the injectors. Gums and sludges cause power loss in the engine during peak needs, such as under-loaded conditions and take-offs.

These unwanted contaminates will lower your MPG and increase your cost of doing business with every mile driven. The cost to the transportation industry and private independent truckers will be measured in loss of engine performance, increased diesel consumption and an increase in parts and maintenance cost.

Fuel Busters Diesel Conditioner Comes to the Rescue

Fuel Busters diesel conditioner will do the following:

  • Supply sufficient lubrication to the injection pumps and piston chambers.
  • Remove existing build up of gums and sludge on your fuel injectors.
  • Continually clean the carbon and other deposits that are harmful to engine performance and promote excessive wear.
  • Lower maintenance costs and reduce unscheduled injector cleaning and/or replacement.
  • Lower emissions by up to 85%.
  • Increase fuel mileage by up to 15% on average.

Additionally, Fuel Busters diesel conditioner is:

  • 100% organic.
  • Produced from 100% vegetable sources.
  • Manufactured in a pharmaceutical clean environment to ensure concentration and consistency.
  • Non-polluting and totally safe for the environment.
  • Safe for all engines.
  • Backed by a 2 million dollar insurance policy that covers damage to any engine in your fleet, if that damage occurs from using our conditioner in accordance with instructions supplied by Fuel Busters.
